Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve loved buying clothes. Every so often, I would stand in stores and tell my mom that I would only buy certain clothing “if it has the neckline of that shirt in this shirt” or “if this dress was made in that fabric.” That is the first memory I have of stepping into the world of fashion design and I have worked very hard to grow ever since.
I am a fashion designer graduated in May 2020 from the Fashion Institute of Technology. I have always enjoyed weddings and big parties. My favorite part of these celebrations has always been the chance to look at the clothes that people wear and how it defines them. Hence, at my time at FIT, I decided to specialize my Fashion Design degree in Special Occasion.
My background of growing up between Japan and India has exposed me to a lot of cultural knowledge, which I use to my advantage while designing. My senior collection was based on the cultural diffusion that is happening in the world today and how it impacts our lives.
As a recent fashion design graduate, I aspire to be a part of this fast paced and exciting industry. I would also like to share as much of my knowledge as possible with the others, while gaining as much knowledge as I can to grow myself.
